I have to disagree. I love books, they are the best way to read fiction, have you ever tried to read a pdf copy of a novel? Horrible! and for efficent study, a browse through a stack of books is by far the best option.
Also, when I was studying, references from published books were prefered over online journals by the teaching staff.

Distro installation would not be an issue in a corporate enviroment, thats what we in IT are for.

Hardware support is, granted, not perfect, but it is getting better all the time, only really obscure or cutting edge stuff is not supported, unless it comes with Linux drivers, this is something that the Linux community has no control over.
Yup, Office 2003 has shed loads of features, most of which never get used by your average user.
As long as spell check, tables, and "fancy" fonts are available, most of my users would be perfectly happy.
Oh yeah, and a spreadsheet to store reams of data on!
