OK, so, to boycott Sony I'm assuming Sony or BMG is written on the CD we are trying to buy?
Is there any other name or subsidiary I need to be aware of?
Thanks, great answer.
I work for the government and they have implemented something called NMCI which takes our computers that we used day to day for test and evaluation and limited the software we could put on them including going as far as forbidding use to use utilities and programs we need for data manipulation and analysis.
So, Everyone now has two computers. One on the NMCI network and one that is on the old network that we do all our work on.
Due to restrictions on the NMCI computers email I use outlook express to send and receive emails on my non-NMCI computer. Sometimes we need to send large files that NMCI wont allow, or exe's that are not allowed.
I guess that is why port 110 is not blocked because they havent' shut down the old network yet.
Thanks, I'm aware that they could monitor this traffic however, what I"m asking is, is it less likely to be monitored.
Are there readily available tools that make it easy to monitor 3000 peoples ip traffic. Are there certain "keys or indicators" that make the software take notice of traffic?
When they say that email is being monitored does that usually mean just email that goes thorugh the works servers?
I use outlook express to log into my account that is under my domain. Since I dont use the companies email system, am I any more insulated from being monitored?
Went a saw a presentation in college about holograms. The guy, on stage set up some type of small lazer shot through a diffuser to spread the light and placed this on one end of a table. At the other end of the table he took a piece of Black and white "glass plate" film (about 3" by 3" and this stuff has must have an ASA of like 2 or something cause all he did was dim the lights in the room to do this. Anyway, directly behind this plate of "film" he sits a little yellow "woodstock" (of snoopy and woodstock) toy figure. He turned on the lazer for about a minute or two. Then, when the exposure was done, he developed the film as you would normally (right there on stage in the dimly lit room).
After development he held up the B&W film and in it you could see a "yellow" 3D image of woodstock.
He had created a Holograhm right before our eyes. No vibration damping.
I dont know the wavelength of the lazer and dont know where you get "glass plate" B&W film (he said it was what was used in the early days of photography).
Anyone have any insight into this process??
What!!
I'm still not done being pissed about how every time I hook up my DVD player through my VCR the macrovision kicks in and screws it up so I cant watch the DVD on the TV or make a "low quality" VHS recording for the Van (so the kids can watch the DVD I just bought on the road).
I had to go out and spend 100 bucks on a sima color corrector (and macro vision defeater).
Thanks dude,
:-)
How about hardware....any other names but sony?
So google huh...I'll have to check that out
