  1. Re:Plugin too?? on Blender 2.33 Re-enables Game Engine · · Score: 1

Yes, it's in the source (actually it never left ;-) only SOLID left). I just built the browser plugin (and the stand alone player) for FreeBSD (I'm the FreeBSD platform manager), but it won't be released as a binary yet; not tested.
I hope that changes soon, I liked the browser plugin. But it was very hard to get it working right at NaN, that's why we never released it. Netscape/Mozilla's plugin API is a mess, it works different on all platforms and such :(
So: new coding help is required ;-) Don't be shy !

I use them for multi-boot FreeBSD on one disk. I also use them for fast backups before upgrading the OS on this slice. At the moment I use the other slice for -CURRENT tests.

I think for this verbal neighbour backup service a 'written complete etc. contract' to avoid lawsuit problems is a very typical US overkill. In the Netherlands no-one is going to try to get something like that to court, the judges here will send you home so you can not waste more of their time. I think the situation in Russia will be quite similar.

Your CVS problems sound strange to me. I use CVS to checkout on a NFS/SAMBA exported drive to BeOS, Darwin (OSX on ppc), FreeBSD, Linux (alpha, i386, ppc), Irix, Solaris (i386, sparc) and Windows. I do not have the problems you describe.

  7. cheapest solution that might work for you on Building Quieter Computers · · Score: 1

    From http://www.7volts.com/quiet.htm :

Case fans can be run at 7 volts which significantly reduces fan noise but also allows fair amounts of air flow.

How do you get 7 volts out of the 12 and 5 volts supplied by the Yellow Black Black Red Molex connector you ask? You use the yellow 12v wire as the power connector to the fan and use the red 5v connector as the fan ground. The fan sees the potential difference between the 12v and the 5v so is run at 7 volts. Fans can be run at 5v but some will fail to start and air flow is low. 7v is a 40% improvement over 5v.

This works nicely for some of my computers: you need to test !

Another solution for you might be to build a soundproof cupboard like I did :
    http://members.brabant.chello.nl/~h.lambermont/s ou ndproof/
But that's much more work than just rewiring your fans.
