RegFlushKey isn't supposed to be used like that. I'm not even a Win32 programmer and I know that. It's for flushing the write buffer cleanly before exiting a program, not for maintaining coherence between the state of the program and the registry.
"rollo" is so obviously you that I started laughing as soon as I began reading.
The rest of the comments are clearly legitimate. The overall consensus seems to be that Jeremy wrote a great introduction to the history of the GUI but that the article lacked technical detail. I'm not sure if it was supposed to HAVE any technical detail, though, as it was supposed to be a survey.
"rollo." Jesus Christ, APK. You fail AGAIN. What an incredible, unmitigated failure you are.
Are you trying to make yourself feel younger by using terminology which usually only teenagers use? That's ADORABLE, Alex! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you're a balding 47-year-old man who lives with his dad in Syracuse.... oops.
He's been asking me if I was a Jew nonstop for the past week and pasting random verses out of context from the Talmud that "prove" Jews are terrible people. I think it's because I have a big nose? I don't know.
I seem to have attracted an internet stalker. It's simultaneously annoying and amusing. I've tried not responding to him, but he just goes to my userpage and spams crap about how awesome he is and how I'm "just" a grad student everywhere.
He's a bit of a lunatic.::shrug:: What can you do? Doesn't actually "hurt" me, so I just milk it for the lulz.
Why did you post the same in(s)anity 10 times in a row at WITPro? What is wrong with you? Does narcissism include the need to repeat yourself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over?
This paragraph exists to defeat the Slashdot "lameness filter," because sometimes repetition is necessary to make a point. Apparently that escapes those who wrote Slashcode. Although really, it's understandable, since without this test you'd just have people spamming page upon page of "GNAA 4 LYFE" ad infinitum, everywhere.
The ironic thing about WM is that if you have a keyboard and a fairly large screen (i.e., a COMPUTER), it's great. It is really not optimized for use on a device like a cell phone or PDA, though, as its control widgets are just too tiny.
That's really just a UI criticism, though. The kernel itself is great.
I wish more people would agitate for IRV for national elections, but I think even if a majority of the country knew what it was it would be next to impossible to get Congress to vote for it.
Read that article, but don't really understand the reasoning.
To me, it makes it appear as though nothing "really major" as changed in the kernel since 2.6.0, when, of course, nothing could be further from the truth.
but I wonder if we're ever going to see 2.8 at this rate. The current kernel revision is MILES away in technology from 2.6.0. What will it take to move to 2.8, or (dare I say it?) 3.0? What qualifies as a major enough change?
Congratulations on finding isolated verses which show that some Talmudic scholars were assholes.
I can find you verses in the Bible which affirm the goodness of slavery and the subjugation of women. Same for the Q'uran.
The only major world religion that isn't lightly sprinkled with evil is Buddhism, and I'm not even TOTALLY sure about that.
Fail again, APK. Please don't slit your wrists, I'd hate to have your blood on my conscience.

"U.R.A. liar"
... oops.
"Check it"

Why don't you ask me if I'm a Jew next, APK?

Now, don't you feel silly?
Go sit in the corner, Alex.
P.S. Are you a Jew? Hm?

The fact that you cannot comprehend how incredibly bizarre it is that you keep asking me this is a source of no end of funnies to me.
"Get The Fuck Out."

Do people honestly think that Life on Earth would be the same right now if we had seen a President Gore or President Kerry?
No one who is "fashionably cynical" about the major parties has an answer for this when I ask them, and for good reason.
Why aren't debates presented on C-SPAN? Shouldn't this be part of what it's FOR?
about this thread is that I got modded down to -1, Offtopic and then back UP to 0 for being funny.
lol. just pure lol.
For the LAST TIME, I will NOT have sex with you.
STOP.
ASKING.
does not an arbiter of a versioning system make. :p
More things have changed between 2.6.0 and 2.6.21 than changed between 2.0 and 2.2.
How's that?
Read that article, but don't really understand the reasoning.

Was that the case for 2.0 -> 2.2? 2.2 -> 2.4? etc.?

you don't see the irony here. That's unsurprising. Narcissists are often incapable of distinguishing subtleties. I mean, hell, look at the president!
Fail again, APK.
Boring. Now that you've revealed yourself as a bigot you can't possibly top yourself.
NOW HEAR THIS, INTERNETS: APK HAS OFFICIALLY JUMPED THE SHARK.
Fail^2.
You pathetic piece of antisemitic trash.
Fail.
