I think you talking about soft reference variable creation.

Can I complain about people getting shuttled around like rock stars and athletes, knowing they are they work to enable the mining of every detail of our lives for advertising or worse ?
Can I be disappointed that the government is handing out favors to the companies holding mineable and pre mined data for large networks of people; where people can be real, fictitious, and business ?
Roblimo has thick skin. He said so in March when he posted an advertisement for this same service in the disguise of a story.
This still looks like front page placement of an ad for a friends company.
How much does it cost for front page placement ?
I did not suggest a mistake. I suggested it was a typo by some being too cute to get the message correct.
I think it was an attempt to do as you say, but the expression as typed does not parse correctly.
Google developer tracking^w conference is one way to express the idea.
Google developer tracking ^w^wdevelopers conference is another.
Holy abuse of parenthesis ! ... acquisitions and projects (like the recent purchase of Nest, which itself promptly bought Dropcam, the ever smarter fleet of self-driving cars, the growing number of Glass devices in the wild, and the announcement of a 3D scanning high end tablet quite unlike the Nexus line of tablets and phones),...
I/O, the company's annual developer tracking^wdevelopers conference,
I use vi, but I assume the control w is emacs to delete a word.
Developer developers conference ?
These are not car pools.
That same car comes and goes *just* like the commercial drivers. All day long. Day after day. Week after week. One airport run after another.
Not hard to spot.
Uber connects drivers lacking commercial driving licenses, and insurance that covers transporting passengers commercially, with passengers seeking commercial transportation.
Fixed that for you.
+1
Its exactly like anyone with a hammer can be a sub contractor in the construction industry.
Or anyone with a flashlight, billyclub, and gun can become a private police officer on subcontract.
Every industry does this.
I, for one, will look forward to the city being sued for an enormous amount of money when the inevitable deaths happen, and the PUC showns they had expressed concerns and the mayor gave zero fucks for public safety.
That is carpooling, not "RideSharing" as the term applies here.
Uber is a for profit company. They abuse the phrase "ride sharing" to hide that they have full time drivers acting as if they were licensed to provide transportation to the public.
Or, is it a way to share your powerpoint and not have to carry more than your mobile device ?
We have a wifi projector at work. This is just another way to let people throw something up on the screen without moving cables around.
Think of it as a presentation tool on the mobiles, that supports minor editing and layout changes and it makes a little more sense. Most people wanting this have office, and office documents, and this opens up a new way to present them.
Come out of your hole, apple laptops are dominating in my area. Python, Go, d3,... all the groups I frequent are apparently not readers of/., or some/. readers do not get out into the real world much.
I went 12 years without needing an office suite.
When looking for a new job, it was the first thing I used to update the resume in.doc format,.rtf, and.txt.

Is this Darling project going to be the easiest way to get a functioning google drive client for linux ?
Windows, MacOSX, iOS, and Android all have clients, and at this point the lack of a functioning linux client is not a technical issue.
Are you not paying attention ? With systemd you have your choice of hex, oct, and binary modes in grepd for making use of the journald output !

The person clearly wants a tablet. I want a better kindle with features like color e-ink, and a much larger e-ink display for magazines and PDFs.

It won't work, but not because miles are payment.
Trading miles doesn't work when your clients prefer to not have a car

we generally pay to be published in the glossy covered journals. The direction of travel for the money is from the researchers to the journals.

+1 You would think that with all the programmers on linux, something as elegant and functional as sourcetree would be standard.
Although I find it useful, I always go back to pen and paper when I need to work at a pace other than my own, such as one being dictated by a speaker.
