khasim says: It says we lost 3 million jobs since 2001.

I am one of those people that have lost their job. The company I was working for closed its doors in October of 2002 and I was part of the last round of layoffs in June of 2002. I worked in the IT department and there were only the two of us when the layoffs first started. My job wasn't outsourced, it was lost to the poor economy and poor business decisions. The problem is that there are no jobs in the area that I live that I am either eligible for or someone else has a better chance at getting. There are literally thousands of IT workers out of work in the area and most have better qualifications and paperwork than I do. So now I work for $7 an hour doing janitorial work.

All I have to say to this is that if they do this it frees up some of my time. I will no longer watch TV and will instead work on my computer, read, carve wood or one of my many other hobbies. They can do what they like but so can I and I don't have to pay them for the privilage of it. If they try to force me to pay for their crap I can always just leave the country.

IMHO the best thing to do is grab a spare computer, download a bunch of interesting distro's (Linux, BSD, whatever you want), install them and use them for a day or two.

I would love to do this but all of my old computers go to family members. Even my fathers old computers go to family members. I am planning on installing Linux but I need to redo my drive and reinstall my Windows 98SE. I figure I may be able to do it in a couple of weeks as I am currently working on a number of systems for family members.

I still need my Windows 98SE because I like to play games and most games wont run under Linux. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will have time to do this. In the meantime, I play with the Live CD versions.

Heh, you should check out the United States of America. The champions of bad spellers live here. Bad spelling is the favorite national sport of the country. I am not kidding about this either. Whenever I try to read something that someone wrote, if they aren't a professional writer, it's like reading a foreign language. I can usually puzzle it out but MY GOD, is english their native language or what? BlueBat P.S. - I am a citizen of the United States of America so I have as much a right to my opinion as you do yours.

Hmmmm, I went to the site and found out that I don't watch any of the top 38 shows. Number 39, Joan of Arcadia, was the very first show on the list that I regularly watch. I don't watch any of the first 38 at all. Makes me wonder about America, with many of the top shows be crap like Survivor and American Idol. Oh well, if they keep canceling the good shows then I can stop watching TV and spend my time reading and working on the computer as well as my many other hobbies.
