1. If microsoft charged less for the same product in another country people would get pissed.
2. I'm not sure how this works, but the fewer things they have to translate, the better.

I am a total newb when it comes to this, but does it make any sense to spend money to dumb down a version of XP when they could just lower the price and save a whole lot in copyrights, developments, patents, and things?
I don't see that as being an advantage to anyone, even microsoft. Could someone please tell me why they're doing this?
