Has anyone actually checked to see if they actually have lifted the rules for their own pages? I mean really, just because they did this on their own pages, does it mean they aren't getting the same mark down as everyone else? Does google really need to worry about any of their pages loosing a foothold in their own searches, they are LISTED ON THE FRONT PAGE!
If I were google, I'm not sure I would worry about search position for a page I have linked on the front page of the search engine.:o)
This may actually be the remedy for overpopulation. Maybe in exchange for immortality, you only get to have one child, or maybe none. This, coupled with extensive tests for the ability to have normal* children may help with the overpopulation problem we are all ready faced with.
If you were to tell US citizens right now that they could not have children or were limited in the amount they could procure, they would flip, BUT... if you could offer them immortality in return, a great majority may forgo having children for that right. Another effect of that may be improving the quality of life on some places. You may not want to do anything to improve your current surroundings if you're only going to be here for a few decades, but after three or four hundred years, it may become more of an issue for most people.
