  1. Re:The PS3 isn't sounding like a normal console... on Sony Hints on PS3, PSP, and PS2 Plans · · Score: 2, Informative

They said they would release a regular version of the PS3 for around 200 Euros, which they said would be for people who just wanted a next-gen console. So obviously, if the stripped down version is a next gen console, so must be the version with all the bells and whistles (or dancing and singing as they called it!)

  2. Re:SO let me get this straight on Wal-Mart Relaunches Online Music Store · · Score: 1

You can burn an i-tunes song an unlimited number of times. All you have to do is alter the playlist it is in (note you don't HAVE to burn from playlists either). Example: You have a playlist of a Red Hot Chili Peppers CD. You burn it 10 times and it tells you to go away. Delete and remake the playlist. Done deal. WAL-MART controls each song, allowing only 10 burns. That means if you burn it in any way 10 times you can't ever burn it again without ripping it from a burned CD.

    Quoted directly from the GPL
    5. You are not required to accept this License, since you have not signed it. However, nothing else grants you permission to modify or distribute the Program or its derivative works. These actions are prohibited by law if you do not accept this License. Therefore, by modifying or distributing the Program (or any work based on the Program), you indicate your acceptance of this License to do so, and all its terms and conditions for copying, distributing or modifying the Program or works based on it.
I would say that SCO's declaration of the GPL as unconstitutional and illegal would be equivalent to not fully accepting the terms of the license. And because distributing programs under the GPL is prohibited unless you accept the GPL (see above), SCO has no legal right to distribute GPL'd code.

I don't see what George W has to do with all of this (or did you mean precedent?) Anyways, SCO's rights of use for NMAP are being revoked because they violated the terms of the GPL. Not because they are being discriminated against. In fact, the GPL inherently prohibits the kind of discrimination you are referring to.

  5. Was doing a little test and... on Yahoo! Vs. Google: Algorithm Standoff · · Score: 2, Funny

I was running query after query to see who came up with better results. I typed in 'quote AMD' and yahoo brough up a nice little stock quote with a graph. In google a generic graph icon was on top with a link to 'Show Stock quotes for AMD' ... it linked to Yahoo's finance page. Just thought that was a bit ironic..
