If a small asteroid is going to hit earth and damage an area too large to evacuate killing millions there will still be millions more who could have survived if they had recieved a warning.
If a real dinosaur killer is going to hit us I find it likely that a warning and emergency stockpiling and sheltering still could make a difference of a factor of 100, highly significant for the survival of our species.
It is never ever so bad that trying is meaningless, 99.99% killed can be enough for humanity to survive, 99.9999% killed might not unless they are more or less in the same location.
A policy to shut up and let people die in peace allways leaves fewer survivors and a worse off future after the disaster.
I will buy about 1000 discs next year at our
free software company. I would not touch copy
controlled discs with a three meter pole. I am also ready to pay more for discs from a manufacturer that dont produce any copy controlled discs at all. We need non copy controlled discs to make our living and its worth it to help our future suppliers.
The help I need is rumours about suppliers starting to produce copy controlled discs.
You can do the same even if you only buy one disc. There are millions of people buing extra discs and new pc systems from small manufacturers that can change to a new disc brand on short notice.
Good spotting.:) Pike was developed by the Lysator member Fredrik Hubinette who were and is a whizard on LPC programming. If I remeber it right its first name was micro-LPC.
