I wouldn't see this as an embarrassment for the us as the ISS is an international space stations with many countries that take part in the project. I don't see why those shouldn't help out each other... ?
I played about 5 hours into the game now and the voice recognition works in some parts better than i expected but in other it can sometimes be REALLY frustrating when you try to solve puzzles in the game. (computerterminal:"please say the voice password", Me:"password", Computer:"beep - wrong" Me:*hmm... did i solve the puzzle incorrectly or was my pronounciation bad...?")
As for accents... i got stuck around 5 times where i had trouble to pronounciate words correctly (I'm german) but in general i could play pretty much fluently.
You can't exactly copy the games but its possible to stream them trough the gc bba from your pc into the gamecube.
Thou from what i've heard it's a bit of a hassle (swapping involved) and isn't too reliable.

from watching some game trailers the graphic quality sure is equivalent to that of the PS2.
