While SQL on Rails was posted last year, it did this concept so much better. Python on Planes is ugly and wasn't taken far enough to be truly funny. Quite simply, SOR kicked POP's ass.
Because on linux you never end up in rpm dependency hell. You never have to compile a kernel to use, for example, more than 4GB of RAM. You never have/dev identifiers moving around.
I agree that windows can be a pain, but the modern windows 2003 server environment is actually fairly easy to use, in part because of the low complexity. Microsoft will never have apt-get/emerge/package manager of choice and all the power that provides, and it will never let me compile a kernel for some custom purpose. But then I generally don't have a need to that on windows because they provide a flexible enough kernel built in that a few config changes make it adapt.
Remember guys, just because Windows isn't the One True Operating System doesn't mean that linux, in any of its forms, is.
I do the same thing. Amazon with free 2nd day vs cheaper vendor with $$ ground. Amazon wins sometimes. I just wish I could exclude vendors that don't offer Amazon Prime.
The greatest thing about it is that I can share it. Sure, I order from amazon a lot. But I share it with my father, my girlfriend and my boss. My boss has an amazon CC, always has the A9 discount and with my amazon prime he orders almost everything from amazon, down to condoms.
Virus? I don't think so. The file is quicktime, it probably just doesn't work right in real player.
Plus, based on the actual video it was made on a mac. Everyone knows they can't get viruses;) And shouldn't you be more worried about the privilege escalation in the download?
