It depends on how big of a number you're talking about. Where I live in Cable Hell(Farmington Hills, Mi) being held hostage by Time Warner, it will be at least 10 months before we get cable modems even though we are surrounded by cities that already have them. WHAT AN OUTRAGE!!!. Can you imagine what it must be like in the country. Knowing my luck, it's probably better than here. At least I'll get my money's worth from this $150 prepaid dial-up plan(6.25/month)
Well this is no big deal. This is a "free PC" not a free ISP and this is old news. M$ isn't the first to do this and they won't be the last. This won't hurt AOL or Linux. Linux PCs will always be cheaper than Windows PCs.
If this comes through, and opens the door for every dial-up ISP beingthen I will be pretty mad. I just signed up for a special deal with BigNet available to Detroit Lions season ticket orders. I thoght it was a good deal $150 for 2 years of access!! I mean since I conceded that I'm in cable/ADSL hell, I figured I'd get the best dial-up deal and I thought this was it, I mean this is $6.25/month. Until today I had never seen a deal this good except for NetZero
Let me know where I can get choice A. Cable/aDSL for $20/month!!! I can't even get a cable modem. This is an outrage
