I had a look at the emissions from the new Nissan Leaf on my blog and the figures, albeit rough, show it in joint fifth place on the clean car list. All depends on the fuel mix in your electricity.

Of course, if stacks of electric cars, whose overnight charging is remotely controlled, help to make the grid more efficient then they should get some kind of emissions bonus lowering their per km emissions. / Colm

The article below shows a total energy payback in 2 to 3 years.
Its obvious that the Navy provided the pictures and then invented the implausible "you'll see me standing here like this with my hand behind me on the joystick and driving" line. I'll bet he has his eyes shut as well, or if they're open he's looking anyplace but towards where the ship is heading.
How dumb do they think we are ?
If his hand is behind his back, and his back is that flabby, his stomach must be enormous, lends credence to the "driving from behing mode".
Have a look at the photo showing the hand on the joystick. Correct me if I'm wrong but thats a left hand on the joystick ( we see the thumb on top ). Correct me again, but isn't that hand coming from the right of the flabby torso ( standard for the US military ).
So whats the story, only people with two left hands can drive this thing ? Or do sailors have a third arm attached to allow them to manage the complexity of the controls ? Where were the other two hands in the photo ?
What in Sam Hell is going on over there ????
Why do GE get all proud about this phrase "with a power consumption of about 80 watts - on par with today's incandescent bulbs". Today's incandescent bulbs which are about 5 times less efficient than compact fluorescents, well hurray hurray for GE, I can't wait until they announce "a new xyz processor on a par with todays 486".

Now how about giving the source for the original, false claim.
Surely you won't be taken in by that.

It still stinks to high heaven.
