I recently moved from Dublin, CA to Fremont, CA (using ATT Broadband Internet in both cases). It worked fine in Dublin, but for some reason I could't get a TV signal off the cable modem. I had to sign up for it and now I pay $40 for TV in addition to the $45 for internet access.
The attitude these networks have is really annoying. Okay, iCraveTV is backing off because its threatened by the network's big financial muscles. And maybe, just maybe, the networks have a bit of a point - at the very least they believe they do.
But iCraveTV has indicated it wants to negotiate broadcasting rights from these networks and their intentions have never been to steal anything from the big network guys. Yet, the article quotes one of the Lawyers say that such a deal would not be possible, that "We've had a pretty hard-fought battle.". So is that how it works? Small company gave us grief so we refuse to deal with them regardless of potential gain?
It seems that many people support iCraveTV and the networks should realize this - that their viewers want it. It would also help them to expand - imagine how many more places will be able to view what their networks have to offer if they support iCraveTV.
- My Two Cents.
Are Scientists Responsible?

Many people claim that knowledge is neutral and its in the application that's good or bad.
But should scientists, those who are responsible for uncovering knowledge be aware of the possible good/bad applications of the fruits of their work? There has already been many benefits when its come to the work done in genetics.
But creating life is a big step. Scientists may be ready it. My question is: Are the people ready for it? Are people ready for the possibility to know life and how to create it, to use the knowledge responsibly?
IMHO, scientists have to bear some responsiblity. (s)he may be ready to learn, to know the wonders of the human genome but (s)he should be aware of how their knowledge might be abused, might negatively impact society's moral and ethical health. (s)he should take steps to prevent such abuse before proceeding with their experiements.
Actually, the Perseid meteor shower peaks Aug 12 21UT (2pm PDT). Continues through to Aug 13.
