I am a computer scientist in Iceland and the demand for good computer scientists here is really low. I would definately consider moving elsewhere to be able to work at the level I want to (i.e. not just administering some small firm website).
Yeah, I know this has nothing to do with the point you're making, but it's certainly something to consider. There are other countries than from the third-world that have a surplus of capable IT professionals.
The worst thing about all of this, is that for every person who doesn't care - or hasn't the willpower to learn - about how to secure their computer on the internet, makes my own machine even more vulnerable. That means that more people get duped into installing some trojan or the likes, to aid the malicious users to attack other machines.

It's true that due to PageRank, finding what you're looking for can be difficult when using a simple query like "Apple". But I have found that the quality of results are a direct result of how well formed my query is.
Most people usually start out searching using simple queries, but as they get more experienced they learn that more complex queries [most of the time] result in more accurate results.
This has resulted in classes like this one.
Isn't it just too demanding to ask the search engine [whichever we use] to think for us.
Why only "third-world dirt-hut coders"?
