I was going to say something similar. This picture is not against technology. This could have been a technilogically advanced people, assailed by a much more advanced civilization/people, and the story been just as valid. This is a knock on stupid people who have little sensitivity to the needs and feelings of other people and living things generally. The implication is that too many people like that can do a lot of harm, and even kill a world ecology.
Now can someone definitively disprove the newly evolving myth that at birth we have all the fat cells we ever have, and after birth they only swell or shrink according to our diets.
I also wish that more people would measure the raw talent and content of a language rather than the size of the brains of its supporters and users. I favor OOREXX, but have developed in C++, COBOL, PLi, ALC, APL, and VBS. Langauges have specialties. These days the stuff I make never goes above the script power. Choosing a training language, needs to be based on what will be built with it. These day of fast computers, why spend precious time learning hard, when easy gets the job done. If it does not then you can learn hard.
My two cents says this is to be expected. NASA and others are on the evil doers list because of the side they are taking regarding Stem Cells, Global Warming, Energy (i.e. conserve it), Intelligent Design, etc... I bet the coffers would open up if the warmed to the "right" side of issues.
