oooh sorry i didn't use the word bug. again u connoted the meaning of feature to be a positive thing when in fact it is not. a feature is just part of the landscape. for you that feature was a boon, for the developer that feature was a bug.

you obviously missed the point. he is suggesting developing better patching systems so that all systems get updated SIMULTANEOUSLY. taking the responsibility off from lazy admins, or in my experience, no admin at all.

I think you have mistaken an accepted definition: An item advertised or offered as particularly attractive or as an inducement: a washing machine with many features.
With a more appropriate one: A prominent or distinctive aspect, quality, or characteristic: a feature of one's personality; a feature of the landscape.... and of course it is undocumented or the software vendor would have removed the feature before shipping the product.
