chrome (or firefox) is never going to become the dominant browser because internet explorer has the word internet in its name. If you give most people a choice on what program they use to browse the internet - firefox, chrome or internet explorer, they will choose internet explorer because it sounds like a program to browse the internet with

Mention an SSL certificate or CA to the majority of people and they will give you a blank look. Getting them to only enter details on a site that uses SSL, let alone one that has a valid CA is hard enough.

Tell them they can check its the correct site by clicking on a button that shows them a picture they chose is a lot easier

  6. location of usb ports on The End of a Floppy Era · · Score: 1

Many old computers and some servers I administers have their usb ports tucked round the back so plugging in a usb drive would be a real pain.
Its a fact of life that these are going to be around for a while. the longer they are, the more likely I will have to do some kind of emergency repair on them by booting off a floppy disk. To create that boot floppy I need a workstation that also has a floppy drive. That is why floppy drives will stay around for a lot longer

If these were needed by anybody they would have been implemented in mysql, which as everybody knows is a much better database than sql server.

I have never wanted to implement a fancy new process scheduling idea.
And as for filesystems, I want one that saves my files and allows me to retrieve them again. I have never even considered implemnting a new filesystem that may not do these 2 things 100% of the time.

I guess this means that OS X on x86 will be better for me than linux. How many other people do you think there are that feel the same way as me?
