Just got it back. My original started crashing more often and then wham...3 Red Lights of Death. The replacement seems to be working ok...but I have only been on it for a few hours.
During the major wind storm that hit the Northwest before Christmas and knocked out a lot of power, I went searching for net access and finally found a Panera Bread Co. that had power (and free wifi). Everything was good for a bit... Then the access point went down. A minute later a new "Free wifi" connection showed up and sure enough it was an ad-hoc connection... Needless to say I left and went to another place.
This is exactly why I still buy CD's. I have control over my music (when there isn't a rootkit on the CD of course). I can do what I want with it. I can rip it into unlimited types of formats...and its all DRM free. Plus, I have a backup in case something happens to the files. A new, cool, small footprint, lossless format is devised? Just re-rip the CD and press onward.
There wouldn't happen to be a strong magnetic field at the bulge would there....?
How about a black monolith buried beneath the surface causing the bulge....?
Waste may be an option:

I haven't implamented it, but a while back I was looking at it to use for my dev team. It's opensource and I believe it was created by the NullSoft (Winamp) guys. I haven't looked at it in a while, so I don't know how stable it is but you could give it a try.
I second that. Firefly for all!
Why can't the scifi channel fund new episodes of Firefly instead of a few of the crappy shows they are currently funding?
Thats my question.
