The Samsung has a MicroSD card slot where the Nexus 4 does not. Unlike the more expensive more recent phones, the Nexus 4 at $250 comes with only 16GB storage and no LTE support. The build quality of the Nexus 4 has been questioned. I know my coworker has one and he loves it, but his rear glass panel is shattered.

LG's successor to the Nexus 4's twin the LG Optimus G Pro now includes LTE, removed the rear glass panel, larger screen, a MicroSD expansion slot, a higher resolution camera, and is much higher in price (around the same price as the HTC one and Samsung S4).

The Nexus 4 only sold 1 million units and Google is trying to liquidate its inventory by selling them $100 cheaper. If you can live without the LTE, I'd recommend getting one while they're still available.

I however like the LTE performance of my HTC one. The build quality is much better than the Nexus 4, and the camera takes better pictures indoors. Of course, I paid $200 more for 32 GB, LTE, Aluminum Body, and a lower res camera with better low light performance.

  15. If men in general were politically dominant, then it wouldn't be the case that 75% of all homeless people are male while there are numerous homeless shelters that cater strictly to women.

Numerous is not equal to majority.

The percentage given by the 2011 Annual Homeless Assessment report show 62.7% are male and 37.2% are female. 71.7% of the male homeless population are individuals leaving 20.7% of them being part of a family of homeless. Contrast that with only 28.3% of the female homeless populations are sheltered as individuals leaving 79.3% of them being part of a family of homeless.

Yes there are a number of single women only shelters but they do not come near the number of men's only homeless shelters. Where do you think the homeless single women should stay?

  16. Homelessness is often correlated with mental illness, which is preponderant in men. Next.

Yes physical and mental issues do contribute to homelessness but the overwhelming cause of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing.

From National Alliance to End Homelessness:

While circumstances can vary, the main reason people experience homelessness is because they cannot find housing they can afford. It is the scarcity of affordable housing in the United States, particularly in more urban areas where homelessness is more prevalent, that is behind their inability to acquire or maintain housing.

    By the numbers:

There are 633,782 people experiencing homelessness on any given night in the United States.
Of that number, 239,403 are people in families, and
    394,379 are individuals.
Slightly fewer than 16 percent of the homeless population are considered "chronically homeless,"and
About 13 percent of homeless adults- 62,619 - are veterans.

These numbers come from point-in-time counts, which are conducted, community by community, on a single night in January every other year. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires communities to submit this data every other year in order to qualify for federal homeless assistance funds. Many communities conduct counts more regularly.

Those are battered women shelters. Domestic abuse is still heavily skewed towards women being victims, largely because they are on average physically weaker.

Wrong. There are homeless shelters that specialize in single homeless women and women with children. These are not spousal abuse shelters which requires abuse to have taken place and actively involve local law enforcement.

Here is a directory of homeless shelters.

I agree that some feminist claims, as well as laws designed to deal with male supremacy need to be revisited. But your examples aren't helping your argument.

I don't understand how homelessness counters feminist claims but you really need to research your answers.

Your price difference non-fact is 100% wrong. The $2.99/episode cost is for the HD version. That was the price of the HD version for the first half of season 5. You can buy the non-HD version for $1.99/episode (Ignoring, of course, the discount per episode if you buy a "season pass".)

Yep my bad. Amazon sent me to the SD version on Season 5. I double checked and it is the same price. $2.99/ep HD.

See, you pay per episode on Amazon. The "season pass" charges you for what is out now (you know EXACTLY what you're getting) then per episode as they come out.

Actually it doesn't. I just checked and Amazon has the final 8 episodes as Season 6 in their catalog.

My system currently dual boots to Windows 7 and Linux so that I can use some audio hardware that lacks Linux drivers. On the rare occasion when I want to use a Windows specific application that won't run under WINE or Crossover I run Win 7 in a VirtualBox VM.

If Linux was so ready for your desktop then why did you need to dual boot into Windows 7 at all? I understand the need to run a specific Windows application, but you couldn't get some audio hardware to work? I thought you freed yourself from the "horror of windows".

And that's the crux of the argument. If people can be satisfied by either OS but need a specific OS to run some of their applications then why should they bother trying to run both? The lack of popular commercial applications and the inability to use some devices natively is why people consider Linux to not be ready for the desktop. It may also be due to the fact that once useable desktop GUIs went off the deep end with their latest versions and drove people to fork into yet two more choices of desktops.

I laugh at your delusional thoughts and maybe one day you'll pull your head out of your ass.

It is called Empirical evidence. As I said, the reason your experience differs is because your experience with real operating systems is severely lacking. If you knew what you were doing as a Linux system admin your users wouldn't be coming back to you asking to switch them back.

I think you meant anecdotal evidence but please go on...

For the record I used DOS when it first came out; Apple DOS before that, and had a good look at the source for Apple BASIC, written by Gates and Allen. I used Windows/286 [wikipedia.org] prior to becoming a VAX./VMS System manager in a network environment that included PCs running Windows. I have written Windows device drivers. My system currently dual boots to Windows 7 and Linux so that I can use some audio hardware that lacks Linux drivers. On the rare occasion when I want to use a Windows specific application that won't run under WINE or Crossover I run Win 7 in a VirtualBox VM. I recently set up multiple Windows Servers with M$ SQL-Server in a redundant configuration. In other words, I know Windows, and I know it well.

Yawn. Guess what. We are close to the same age and have very similar experiences... next.

OTOH, I have used Linux as my desktop OS for more than 15 years It was almost on a par with Windows 10 years ago. It has since far surpassed Windows in every way. (You can't blame the device driver issue on Linux developers like I'm sure you are trying to in your head right now. That is 100% a result of illegal business practices on the part of Gates and crew.)

Yes Linux has a GUI that is serviceable. I'm sure you won't find any complaints about Gnome3, KDE4, or Unity on the Internet. I never said Linux was unusable, just that it really isn't ready for the average desktop. It may be ready for *your* desktop. There is a reason people dual-boot into windows or run it in a VM. It's to play a popular game or use a device that only supports Windows or OS X.

Adding anti-Microsoft rhetoric to your argument isn't making the case or on topic. No one is forcing device drivers to only be available on Windows. Since Linux has only a 2% share of the desktop market, I can fully understand why some device manufacturers don't spend money producing a driver or support software that runs in Linux. I'm sure most commercial applications are available on the Windows platform for the exact same reason. That said, the OS is becoming irrelevant for a lot of people with mobile applications and web applications assuming a larger role. It's not completely irrelevant which is why some people need Windows.

You seem to have been under the delusion that there are people who only know how to use Linux and they are the ones that don't get it. The fact is that I have never met a person who understood and was competent with both who preferred Windows.

Actually I made no such assertion.

Also, my mother is not particularly computer savvy, but she has been using Linux for more than ten years as well, and thanks me to this day for getting her away from "that awful Windows", and from time to time relates to me stories of her friends difficulties with Windows and how she is so happy she doesn't have all those problems.

Good for your mother. I'm glad Linux fulfilled her home usage needs.

It seems like you simply aren't happy unless you are spewing stupid and ignorant comments. Big surprise there I guess.

You haven't demonstrated the ability to have a rational discussion without insulting people who are trying to converse with you. Besides your original premise was:

I have never see anyone use Linux on their personal machines, at least long term once they've played around for a bit then moved back to Windows/OS X."

Truth be told. AMC is set up for DVD sales and not digital distribution. They made a decision to sell the first half of Season 5 on DVD and whatever. The problem being that they decided to name the second half of the DVD set as "The Final Season". It helped DVD sales because you can buy the first half of the season while you waited on the second half to air later in the year. It doesn't hinder DVD sales because they can sale a "Complete Season 5" edition as well as "Final Season" edition of the DVD after the season finale airs.

It appears AMC unwittingly created a problem for their digital distribution vendors by labeling Season 5.1 as "Season 5" and Season 5.2 as "Final Season".

When the customer sued Apple for non-delivery of goods he gave Apple ammunition to go after AMC for damages resulting from their own screw up. I'm sure in the end, there is enough fine print in the iTunes user agreement or seller agreement to cover Apple's legal expenses.
