I know how you feel. However, things may not be as good as they used to be for the computer field. Let me tell you that even considering costs of life and all that stuff, I believe an IT job in the US is still very salary-attractive. I have worked in the Us and then moved to Europe, and believe me it is not the same feeling.
You have spent four years of college and you friends that even did not go to college are making more money than you, plus thay have been doing it for four more years than you.
Some people tell me, at least you won't get your hands dirty! Hmmm yeah, that is the reason I did it, I guess, not to dirty my hands.
