You keep bitching at this guy for saying that acrylic sucks, and that acrylic isn't beta quality, and that it needs generations of work, but not before you say, that you can't compare them BECAUSE ACRYLIC NEEDS WORK. The game company yes. There is no contract between you and Starforce. There is no express notification of the installation of drivers. Many games patches that do not require extra agreements, install a new (or new version) copy protection, which quietly installs an unsigned drivers, bypassing the windows 'protection system' and not informing you of any risk. That is not waved in the license agreement (at least not ALL license agreements).
Many games 'quietly' install an unsigned driver without warning you (starforce/securom). If a single sec vuln appears in one of them and you get any damages...
Uh.... maybe you don't understand... DRM embedded chips would be forced upon you if you wanted to download music/movies/games, not prevent you from using things. Sure an emulator would defeat this at a mere 90% performance loss, but then you wouldn't be able to do anything new... you just wouldn't be able to download music/movies/games from the providers that require it.
You can already 'own boxes' below the operating system level... ever heard or virus's that fuck/mod the bios? What about the MBR? One that ata-locks your harddrive? They are all very small spreaders as they fuck your computer, but they all have existed.
Not if you were to find a way to 'link' with your copy. So that you merge you thoughts together, and then if part of you dies, PART of you dies, but you still live on.
