I'm not saying this is why, but it is something to consider. Keep in mind that 1UP's affiliate Computer Gaming World, a 25 year old magazine, changed its name to Games for Windows with a big windows logo on the front cover.
Its hard to consider 1up.com objective under such circumstances.
I don't know, does that make sense?
I admit, I may not be speaking for everyone. To my eyes though Intel is hurting itself more than it is AMD. I lost all respect for Intel and have decided to blacklist their products. My friends & Co workers in the IT field all feel the same.
If you want to compete then do it with competitive pricing and high quality products. Don't try to compensate for it by trying to monopolize the market with down right dirty tactics.
I used to respect Intel and its products. Now with this I really am disappointed to see where they are heading.
I also have to say, I lost respect for Skype. They were the rebels out there going against all Telcos and showing them that Land Lines are a thing of the past. Now they are no better than the monopolizing Telcos.
The poster's nickname kind of kills the objectivity on this one.
I still think Microsoft should pay up for their mistake, but when someone with this kind of nickname posts about microsoft, its bound not to sound objective or credible.
Regardless of who has better chips and regardless of what capitalism is all about. Having a healthy competition is one thing. However, Intel taking the roll of the punisher when AMD is involved is another. You want more sales? Then as usual, try to outdo AMD by benchmarks.
What this boils down to is its the customer's choice of who they wish to go with, not Intel's. When Intel begins to start forcing/punishing the user to go with their products, then someone needs to step in because the customer should never lose the right to choose.
