  1. text size, and some consistency on Slashdot Index Code Update · · Score: 1

first, i personally find the text in the grey container bottoms (as i like to call them) too small, i think the text size needs to come up a little.

also, i'd like to think i've figured out that you're trying to make them fit in with the rounded green headline at the top (which i like), but i think for the sake of visual consistency each story should now get the rounded grey border treatment, even if there are no longer stories. the front page definitely has some disjointedness to it now that some of the stories have a nice rounded bottom edge and others do not.

  2. makes perfect sense for the iPhone on Build Your Own Rotary-Dial Cell Phone · · Score: 1

i always figured that if the iPhone ever came out, it would have a rotary dial.

they've already developed the touch wheel for the iPod... so why not have tap locations around the circumference? you would either tap or *squeal* ROLL around the rim to dial. an old school touch, and it would totally go hand in hand with iPod/iPhone convergence. flip a switch and it goes from iPod mode to Phone mode... and the touch wheel becomes a rotary dial.

  3. MEC Darwin - Seconded. on Advice On Notebook Backpacks? · · Score: 1

i had one of those huge targus dealies and when i got to vancouver i had to get a darwin. for $50CDN you can't go wrong. it is a little small, but that just forces you to pack smarter.

also, its not obviously a laptop bag... a bonus if you're going to leave it around at all (which you shouldnt, if you love your lappie).

the only downside: my 12" pb tends to rattle around a little, as i assume a 12" iBook would.
