I've been a software engineer for 8 years, and majored in math in college. I had some disadvantages starting off in trying to convince companies to hire me as a programmer, but once I had that critical one year of experience, the math degree has only been an advantage.
Moreover, if you are the math guru where you work, you get to be the hero and alpha geek all the time.
My sole regret in taking math? That I didn't take more.
