The british study is automatically suspect. I don't think the country that gave us Mad Cow Disease can be trusted with anything scientific. Ever. Would be like asking a german about human rights.
Isn't that a bit like saying

I'm not even going to touch the German/Human Rights issue. Europe doesn't have its own PATRIOT act or Guantanamo yet, you know.
I saw a Currys advert in the Saturday Mirror. They're offering the Gamecube for a bargain 25 quid. 25 quid! Should fill the gap nicely until [improved 360|PS3|Revolution] arrives!
Since at least 2002 - at first advertisers needed to spend at least US$5000 a month to get up there. Nowadays normal Adwords can get to that position - provided the ads are fairly popular (i.e. they get clicked on a lot.)
This is the problem with open-source in general, if someone is just doing it for fun they aren't going to spend any time on the stuff they don't care about personally.
Anti-Open Source FUD - doubly so, since MySQL is produced by a commercial company. MySQL's limitations are nothing to do with it being open source, although its popularity certainly is.
