What kills me is that Hotline has never even had as much as an eye lash batted in it's direction. It's definately as bad as napster if not worse.
But shhhh, I use Hotline a lot....
The movie flooped because the story was bad. The plot did not bother me at all, but the dialogue and the fact that it went by quickly like a childrens movie did bug me. Things like a singular enemy in "a" ship, bad guy "pal" that flip-flopped on being good/bad and forming a planet in 15 seconds were very unrewarding intellectually (yeah, cartoon, but should have been made for adults).
Visually the movie was stunning. I loved the 2D characters in a 3D environment.

Every month or so I pick up a shareware cd just to see what's up with. As I read the agreements to these shareware titles I see that many have clauses that allow for anyone to distribute the software but they disallow anyone/company from making and distributing a cd with their app for any reason including profit.
Could the open source community adopt a rule to strictly exclude Microsoft from adopting and extending their work? Would this hold up?

Really? Canadians invented the Avro Arrow, the first aircraft to reach Mach 2+ (Americans were barely able to sustain Mach 1+). The Avro Arrow was the first aircraft which used the delta wing, a CANADIAN invention. When Avro Co. went bust (political in-fighting with the president of Avro and the Canadian prime minister lead to the literal destruction of these aircraft and their plans!) the americans hired all that Canadian brain power (instant visa's over night) to build their own military aircraft for Douglas, NASA, Boeing, etc - including the design for *your* space shuttle and the Concord. Bacon indeed.
I see you don't have an interest in world history, just the american version of it. Tisk tisk.
Er er, jackass. What are the figures? Where did you get them? And what is your proof that *more* Linux users *need* access to QT than Mac and PC users?
Maybe a little thought should be put into our comments before posting. Flame away about any OS you choose but please provide some factual basis.
Aww, lets not be bittermans, you should really *read* the licence (this applies to all). The open source is for Mac OS X Server, IE NeXT/Openstep OS - *NOT MAC OS*. This means that any source which includes Quicktime and the Mac OS is simply *NOT* for the offering - PERIOD. It could not be spelled out more clearly so don't whine about *major* portions of the Mac OS (ie System 8+ and QT) missing because *none* of it has been offered.
Apple will always be the underdog next to MS so they will always struggle to impress the rest of us. As for Jobs pulling the clones out, hell Apple would be the smallest supplier of machines if Power Computing was still around. And if you know Apple then you'd know the HW profits feed and cloth them.
Stop your moaning, Jobs is a hippie who likely smoked weed and walked around barefoot with yellow toe nails. I doubt that Gates even knows what a joint is (or seen a yellow yoe nail)- so who do you trust now?
I doubt that this will affect MS much in the *near* future but I would really be interested in hearing some level headed responces as to what people assume Bill Gates is thinking.
