I don't know about you, but I hate this invasion of privacy the gouvenment is doing.
I have nothing to hide, and most people don't, but in a few years, everybody will be scared to click links because of fear of what might load, and the cops thinking they went there on purpose.
And yes, it will happen, and it pretty much already is (with cellphones and other methods of telecommunication).
Starting out, I used Mandrake, but it seems since then (9.0 and later), Mandrake is broken and doesn't work that well.
All of my friends have tried and liked SuSE, so I guess that's a good point to start with.
I have never used Fedora, and therefore have no idea whether it's good or not.
I heard Gentoo was good, and i heard it was horrible. I have not used it.
Currently, I used Slackware, and I almost jumped right into it, from little knowledge.
If you are a first time Linux user, you need to make sure all your hardware works in Linux (like a modem, damn WinModems). And don't be afraid of google. Chances are, other people have had the same error, and it's probably on some web archive somewhere. If not, go to the appropriate mailing list (like, don't complain about apache doesn't work as it should to the distro mailing list, apache has it's own).
Wow, my first big/. post...
This is awesome!
I think this could be the greatest creation to come from the minds at Slashdot...or not...
Why can't we get google to add it as a language set? (Google already has the language HACKER, so why can't have this?)
So why doesn't somebody make an inventory system/cash that impletements a bunch of computers networked to a server? That way, somebody could get a "real time" invoice of what's there, what got sold, where, and by who?
You can't ALWAYS do that, besides, it would look suspicous, and maybe they'd cease his computer...
He'd also have to use a proxy (so they can't tell where he's connecting to).
Not every service hass SSL (Maybe he used KaZaA or LimeWire???)

Or, you can:
1 x 8
0 x 4
1 x 2
0 x 1
2 + 8 = 10
