Have anyone else noticed how slow the console is on a RedHat Enterprise 3 server? Its like you press a button, then you have to wait for 10 seconds before anything is happening. On Enterprise 4, everything is about 50 times faster, maybe even more. The main difference here should be 2.4 kernel versus 2.6 kernel, but what makes the console that much faster on 2.6?
