This is potentially catastrophic. Remember that the cause of mad cow disease is a mirror-reflected protein that can self-replicate. What's the implication of new DNA codons? Single-celled organisms that have no natural enemy, and maybe can't even be detected by the immune system? AIDS or cancer on steroids?
You can already buy a Skype-in local phone number for E30/year. So all you need to do is make your own PBX/redialer that redirects through Skype if the number you're dialing is in your list and online (can even refine policy to let you skype to voicemaili). The only thing stopping this is the relative closedness of the Skype protocols.
With a little effort and SIP knowledge you can already replicate most of this behavior.
I'm sure Skype's next move will be a pay-for PBX of this sort. Meanwhile, let's get coding!
The engineer says, "It's about 3."
A much better approximation for pi that's easy to remember is 355/113 (113355 is the mnemonic).
As an engineer, I say that's engineering at its best.
A much safer alternative is holographic projection, as in this device:

Won't help much, because you won't be able to find it.
The relationship of Tau to prions (cause of mad cow disease) is discussed here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3015202/?tool=pubmed "Tau, prions and A: the triad of neurodegeneration."
