The Amiga's Help key did serve a purpose. Many applications utilized it to launch their documentation. Even later versions of Workbench used it. Most Amiga's had Workbench replacements (DirOpus) that utilized the key...
All things considered... it was better to RTFM, so from that standpoint, you're correct.
