The truth of the matter is that the cable companies are now offering cable boxes with DVR's in them. The advantage is that you don't own the box so when new features (like HD support) come out, you just tell them take back the old box and bring me the new one. Additionally, no IR blaster is necessary to change the channel on the cable box. Really, it will be the end of TIVO and Replay, and I still own a replay aside from my nice new Scientific Altanta Explorer 8000 cable box!
