Actually it has been shown that half of the cost of US healthcare is in overhead, trying to track and bill every single expense. This is by far the highest of any nation.

there is no health care "crisis" in the U.S.; our health care is second to NONE

That's only partially true. A more true statement would be that the US health care is second to non for the 5% of the population that can afford it. The rest of the population received health care no different or in many cases worse than any other industrialized country because the goal of the insurance companies is to pay for the bare minimum standard of care.

First, its not socialist. Unless you also consider the court system, military, firefighters, police and public schools also to be socialist. You are confusing social programs with socialism. Second, its free at time of use, but its paid for by tax dollars so no of course it is not free in the general sense. If I'm robbed and I call the police, I don't pay for it at the time of the call but that service is not free either.

What you are pointing out is less about frame rate, and the fact that you need a higher frame rate to compensate for the CRT drawing in the image line by line.

You don't need as high a frame rate when the whole frame is drawn at once like on an LCD screen as there is no amount of time when the screen is blank. Higher frame rates on LCD are desired for high motion so you don't get the jumping effect. If the picture never moved, the update rate on an LCD could be even 5Hz and you'd never notice.

So yes, I can see 60Hz on a CRT and it gives me a headache (especially with florescent lights flashing a the same rate) but not on an LCD. Film is slightly different again in that it's strobed but you essentially get the entire frame at once.

Oh, and universal healthcare is indeed socialist.

No it is not. This just means you have no idea what socialism is. Do you also consider the public school system, police, firefighters and the military to be socialist? Don't confuse socialism with social programs. They are two completely different things.

Your healthcare is way overpriced for the services you receive. You are paying for all the accountants and administration in the background to track every little nickel and figure out how to bill for it. If this was just paid for (as in Canada) then health cost for identical service would be halved (as in Canada). This has been analyzed and documented to be true.

It's often said that America has the best health care in the world. Well this is true but what isn't said is that the majority, upwards of 90% or more, of Americans cannot receive this type of care because they cannot afford it. The rest get good healthcare no different than say Canada, just twice as expensive. Then there is a sizeable group that cannot afford any healthcare.

If everything was already paid for, this tracking would not need to be as complicated. Thats how it works in Canada and that why it cost less overall. Free for everyone means cheaper overall.

And what is the point of reducing the cost of something thats unaffordable to something that is still unaffordable? You need free access to healthcare for those that need it.
