Do you know anything baout barcodes? Barcodes do not have serial numbers encoded on them. Every printer of the same brand and model has the same barcode. Any other system would increase the cost of printing boxes tenfold.
actually it wouldn't. There is a printing process called "variable data printing" that allows for changing small printed graphics like barcodes, names, addresses, etc. You could print five thousand different barcodes on 5000 different boxes and hardly add any work time. it's pretty cool actually. That's how all those annoying flyers reach your and your neighbor's mailbox having two different addresses but the same marketing piece.
You're white right? it seems that you don't know about white privilege. here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_privilege_(soci ology)
see the thing about it is that white people deny that they are treated any differently because they don't notice it. why would they? they are white. I'm not exactly sure i understand your objection. You know that people of different income levels get better / worse education right? Poor people get a worse education that rich people. Or do you deny that? if you did well that's fine, but you'd be wrong. Why? because rich people can spend the money required to get their offspring a 'better' education. And most of the poor people in this country happen to be guess what! NOT WHITE.
Coincedence that the "Proper" way to speak is the "white" way? I think not. That's why the question of racism was brought up.
And no i am not a troll, thank you.
Well because 'black english' is recognized as its own dialect. Often 'aks' is said instead of 'ask' for example. But why is it racist? because the oppressed minorities don't get good education for the most part; they are not privy to language lessons that teach them what a compound-complex sentence is; or what a gerund is; they don't learn to speak the king's english, so to speak. So holding all people to such a standard, which was created and written down by mostly dead white folks, and more men than women for that matter, can be seen as racist as you are assuming they aren't speaking to your standard and SHOULD BE, when in fact they are speaking the english they learned in whatever environment they came up in.
I have always taken these two issues, Religion and Science as non-contradictory in that Religion (god bless it), no matter which one, is used to explain WHY the universe was created and Science is for explaining How. Why people get so bent out of shape about this is beyond me; i think they can go hand in hand.
If I pay you for your music or art or whatever, I own it. Not a license, not a limited rental, not 'own it except I can tell you what you can or can't do with that' own it. period. once it is mine, i can do with it what i please. THAT'S what you seem to be forgetting. Once it is sold to me, it is MINE. Provided, of course i don't sign some contract agreeing to the rental/license/etc.
well see, many works of art like that are
in the public domian, like so many of DaVinci's sketches or works of artists long dead, especially if they died a pauper. Who owns rembrandts work? I think it might come down to those that "own" the physical painting, but as far a copyrights go, i don't know.
I didn't think it was about ownership of an individual piece of 'art' or whatever (in this case your awesome sculpture); i thought it was about your ability to MAKE COPIES and distribute THE COPIES to anyone. In the case of your sculpture, would you be okay with selling it to a dude who, unbeknownst to you, as a technique enabling him to distribute pretty good copies (á la mp3s; good, but they're certainly not WAVs or SHNs) of your thing? It is HIS after all, right? to do with what he wills, right? You have no more control, right?

I'm sorry, but the fact that there is even 1 innocent person in prison exposes this for the bad idea that it is.
