The bittorent applications that people actualy use are often closed-source. But they wouldn't exist without the open-source innovation because the closed versions are clones of Bram Cohen's original program.
Singularity looks neat but too bad nobody can actually run it. Personally I think a lot of problems with the computer are caused by the bad concept of the application.
The catenary track is interesting but a square wheel can only roll smoothly in one direction and its opposite, a round wheel can roll smoothly in any direction on a flat track.
It's a well known fact that a human being can have absolutely no insight outside of his compartmentalized subject area. (Except, of course, for Mister Coward, whose parents have horrible naming skills.)
Why do death penalty advocates mostly oppose abortion while vegans mostly support it? I think George Lakoff had a reason for that. Something to do with moral frames of reference.
You've been convicted of a crime that would get you 20 years in jail but there aren't enough jail rooms. So they shoot you. Three years later they find out that you didn't do it. Oops!
If Pol Pot had the restrictions of the Constitution he wouldn't be as bad as Bush. Consider that waterboarding is a favorite activity of both Pol Pot and Bush.
I don't see a particular benefit in the current system of parents. I think putting children in boarding schools and making "caretaker" a separate job than "teacher" would be a good idea. It would solve a large number of parenting problems. For example, there are tests for pedophilia, show them children having sex(in manga form or something) and measure the arousal. Abuse could be monitored much more easily. The caretakers could be trained in the psychology of child development and perform it much better than any parent.
Wiki agrees with you. "For the defense to be successful, the defendant must demonstrate that the police induced an otherwise unwilling person to commit a crime." I'm gonna guess that sexual predators weren't otherwise unwilling.
A further look at the "To Catch A Predator" link on Wikipedia shows that it is most definitely not entrapment.
Oh, then what did Stalin use again?
It's the sense of superiority, the idea that you're the master race, that is evil. You find that in religious people, in atheists, in Americans, in Russians, and especially in internet communities like Slashdot and 4chan. (There's another group that did this, but one Mike Godwin told me that turned people off from the logic in that argument)
In special relativity, there is a factor called gamma or the Lorentz factor that comes in when you're moving(with respect to a frame of reference, which is also required to define "energy" as a scalar rather than the momentum four-vector), and it's usually on the other side. General Relativity is differen't because you can't define "moving" versus "at rest" at all so they just took out gamma!
Dark matter is matter that does not participate in the electroweak interaction, and it was introduced to explain why gravity holds the galaxy together about 20 times as well as it should. It is clustered near the centers of galaxies. Dark energy is supposedly evenly distributed, and is an explanation for the "cosmological constant", which is a fudge-factor in Einstein's equations that is needed to explain why the universe's expansion isn't decelerating.
It makes the track "With Teeth" on the NIN album of the same name unlistenable, because it means that I have to change volume quickly in order to make the quiet part audible and the loud parts the quiet part goes between not so loud it takes a day off the life of my ears.
By standing on a giant's shoulders, you can see that his corpse is decaying and his theories only work in the classical limit.
You do know that the open-source Macsyma/Maxima predates both Mathematica and Maple, right?

That's not due to the internet, that's due to Adam Smith's invisible hand. That's the one raping you.

No, it's a Japanese television show. Link

Of course, Apple doesn't sell classical music(most of it, you can find performances for free IIRC) so for the stuff it does sell it is better.
And for completeness, "Tennant" is the guy who plays the Doctor.
except the air.

If by break you mean unbreak, and if by my kids you mean somebody else's kids, because I'm not planning on having kids.
Actually, Catholics usually prefer as the "best" translation one into Latin. It's the Baptists that love King James' version.
Wasn't 1994 when the big drop actually started happening?
You do realize that the lawyers don't want him, right? There are more lawyer jokes than actual bad experiences with lawyers.
Your body was being held up by the muscles of the fingers, not the bones in the hand.
