Years ago (15) I believed that the income tax system was unjust, corrupt and unconstitutional. In the sureness of my convictions I refused to file my annual income tax return for several years running. And then came the figurative knock at the door by men with guns. The only thing that saved me was the meagerness of my income.
Geekdom is just getting it's first knock on the door. Best to study the enemy, what they want and how to stop them. The lesson I learned from the IRS was that knee-jerk reactions to injustice usually kick your own ass.
Exactly my point, kids are "picking up their dysfunctionality" from an environment where life is cheap (violence) and love is a joke (pornography). What you "hear on the new all the time" just validates my point, we live in a society that nods and winks at these failings of human character instead of bemoaning the loss of life (violence) and the insincerity of love (pornography).
What an amazing line of reasoning... try it the other direction... We are not raising intelligent well-adjusted individuals because we refuse to recognize the damage done by exposure pornography and violence. And just as damaging, our lack of condemnation of violence and pornography is as good as an endorsement.
