Why don't they just tie it with a very long rope, and in case anything goes wrong, just pull it back to earth? Or maybe then the Earth would be the one that gets pulled :D?

  2. Life on Mars on Making Tracks on Mars · · Score: 0

According to this (long) article, there's "evidence that there were habitable environments" on Mars, and recent research results "also suggest a possible search strategy for evidence that there might once have been life".

  3. About standards on Star/OpenOffice XML Format To Become ISO Standard? · · Score: 0, Redundant

XML may be an aproved standard and so on, but having support for true xml in any open source software won't lure users from MS Word, no matter how standard XML is. As far as most businesses are concerned, .doc files ARE STANDARD, and the emails very often have .doc attachements. Heck, they could mail PDF, but they don't. They keep using Word. Talk about the power of the habit.

  5. Plonco's constant on Russian May Have Solved Poincare Conjecture · · Score: 0, Redundant

I don't understand why all this fuss about the Poincare conjecture, the answer is pretty obvious.

If there's one thing I remember from 6th grade physics, that's Plonco's constant:

Plonco's constant is the number times which you have to multiply the result you obtained in order to get the correct result of the problem.

And if there's one thing I remember from 6th grade math, that't the Perfect Function (pf):

pf: All problems -> All results,
    pf (problem data) = result.

The Poincare Conjecture (and every millenium problem for that matter) can easely be solved by applying the Perfect Function and then multiplying with Plonco's constant.

  6. It's plain and clear on China Goes Nuclear · · Score: 0, Troll

They want to have world monopoly over the electric power. They will sell it cheap, and make the world depend on them, so they can stop the reactors, leaving us in the dark. I am going to buy a UPS tomorrow, I won't have my computer depend on the Chinise Electric Power World Monopoly.

  8. ANOTHER replacement for MS Word? on AbiWord vs. MS Word, For Now · · Score: 1

I mean... come on guys... I'm not a MS fan, but why all this trouble to eliminate everything they produce? Word is a good application, for all I can tell, and it gives me everything I need from a Word processor. I don't get it, it is a good tool, why make another one to do the same things? There have been many attempts to kill Word, none succeeded. So it's not working on Linux. So what? Linux has lots of word processors, and linux users prefer vi anyway :). And it's not too often that windows users need to exchange files with linux or mac users. Geez, some people can be mean :]

Everybody can start their own party and adopt any policy they like... It's up to you :)

I totally agree. I've seen some tips in a yoga book and used them. Trust me, I spend ALOT of time in front of the computer and I (think :] ) I see perfectly. I found (some of) those tips in this article (omplace.com). I am sure there are other articles about this on the web. Those exercises can actually help you start seeing normally (without your glasses) again.
