We have no problem with cars being taken to mechanics - but you'd be an idiot to do no maintenance yourself, never see a mechanic, and still expect your car to run fine. And yet people do just that with computers. If you can't admin it yourself, that's fine - but you should get someone who can to take care of it.
The difference is the enormous complexity of a computer compared to a hammer.
It's not FUD. There are plenty of cases where dedicating a HDD is not an option, requiring a separate disk is unacceptable. I installed slackware from zero non-windows experience, hadn't used any disk partitioners at all, ever. When I nuked that (that was my learning not to run as root stage, but that's another story) I had an openbsd cd around, so I tried to install it. Had a windows partition on the disk I couldn't get rid of, but enough free space if I could figure out how the hell to partition it. Never managed to.
Manually creating a BSD disklabel is not to be taken lightly. If you're experienced you can do it, but it's very far from friendly. Anyone know if they've done anything to make it easier?

Well, the US got a clause in the charter that makes communism against it. But the reason for it is that Americans have had 40 years of propoganda that communism is the root of all evil, to support them going in and replacing the governments people want when they don't like them.
I've yet to see a good looking and useable skin. And skins don't seem to change the layout of the toolbars, menu etc. Opera is much better, which is how it survives.
when everyone can run a server? I can see this being used for signin across multiple websites run by the same company, but not much else. You certainly won't have a single pervasive ID.
Nope, but painting slower doesn't make you better than him either. In fact whether you can paint better than him is completely orthogonal to how fast you can paint. Anyway, for a painting you only buy the finished product, so the speed doesn't matter. But for a browser, responsiveness is very important.
I knew he was an actor, we haven't got synths that could string sentences together like that. But the point is he's trying to sound like a machine, wheras Christiansen is (one presumes) trying to sound human, and yet sounds more robotic than Daniels does.
Austrumi is an incredible 50mb distro. Rather than mini programs, it includes full versions of abiword, gnumeric, the gimp, mplayer, inkscape, skype... loads of things.
What more could I ask for? Faster loading, faster rendering (the objective speed benchmarks recently back this up), better UI (Opera looks much cleaner, the status bar is awesome, it has so many functions and yet still devotes more screenspace to the actual page). That's why I prefer Opera.
No, it makes as much sense as a normal person refusing non-Kosher food when there's Kosher available. We aren't exactly completely lacking in software, nor dependent on getting it for our survival.
I couldn't talk as stupidly roboticly as Christiensen if I tried. C-3PO put a million times as much emotion into his lines. Computer voice synthesizers sound more alive. Why the hell didn't they dub him, anyone know?
Not any help to you, but if lm_sensors doesn't support it gkrellm certainly won't, since gkrellm just calls lm_sensors behind the scenes

Why? The description as it stands is far more accurate

when they already have 98? Because 98 is unsupported? That'll only make a difference if they've never tried to get MS support.
You're sure being embargoed wouln't have anything to do with becoming less wealthy?
Cuba pointed nuclear missiles at the US once, 40 years ago. The US still has them pointed at cuba, and has actually used nuclear weapons in anger.
Here

That happens to kids in the US too, just in the other direction.
I don't know how it manages it, but even with the ad opera's UI fits far more into the screen space.

Sure. But you can't deny that it would be an improvement to firefox to have it render pages faster.

I suspect he was simply thinking of the British system, where you can't sue the crown unless you get permission to from them. Or something like that.

What more could I ask for? Something that peforms well, something that looks nice, something that has a better UI. Basically, Opera.

I'm going to call you on that one. What are the 5 methods?
