My cousin had one of those 3 prong to 2 prong (ground remover) adapters for his entire computer surge protector. This was a pretty bad idea as it turns out when he accidently touched the prongs the wrong way, probably on ground and positive. His power supply made a large explosive sound and that was the end of that computer. The power supply capacitors blew and leaked, hard drive, cd burner wouldn't spin up:-P.
