I'm sure many of you agree that Louis Savain is just one of many crackpots that have just enough information to be completely wrong in a more spectacular way than the average person. There was a very relevant story from the NPR show This American Life. It's about people like Mr. Savain who have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. You can find the show archive at http://www.thislife.org/pages/archives/archive05.h tml.
The episode concerned is #293 "A Little Bit of Knowledge".
