I haven't seen Starship Troopers 2, but I did see #1. It's definitely a bit cheesy, but it is kind of a soft entertainment.
As for doing justice to it's source, thank God it didn't. I read the book, and it has to be one of the most awful things ever written. I felt like washing myself after reading it. That's how bad it was. How did crap like that ever make it in print?
