I'd expect my ISP to remedy this situation quickly. First, if my email is getting bounced, then a lot of other people's mail is getting bounced, and they would most likely be on top of this fairly quickly. If my email was that important, I would have a Service Level Agreement with them stating how many emails may be dropped on the floor in any one 24 hour period. Anything above the threshold, and we don't pay.
Realistically, this is a moot point. I administer a fairly large email server (15,000+ active users), and when we do get blacklisted due to misdirected spams (AOL likes to blame us for a lot of spam, for some reason), we usually remedy the situation within a few hours. Mail gets queued, bounces around for a bit, and just arrives a little late.
Where's the issue?
Congratulations. You've just proved (if your story is true) at the most that you are the exception to the norm. Would you like a cookie, or perhaps a medal?
If you said you have 500 or 1,000 consultants working under you, and that you never provided a CV to any of your clients, you might have proved me wrong.
I suspect that you most definately, assuredly, missed the entire purpose of my message.
Have you ever actually looked at suprnova? It's merely a webserver that hosts.torrent files. The TRACKERS are NON-AFFILIATED sites that tell you where to look for a computer that is interested in that.torrent file.
Why can't it happen to torrent sites? Because they're different.
Torrents are not 'copywrighted material', as far as content rights holders are concerned. It's no different than me writing down what I thought the script of the movie was. IHBT.
Typically when you consult for larger firms, your customer asks for the CV or Resume of all consultants working on that particular project. If they don't see the right schools, they think that your company sucks.
Wrong. It is not my concern if a site's ISP sucks so much that they don't have adequate load balancing. That's like saying it's bad to use the phone at midnight on New Year's Day to call all your friends and wish them a happy new year -- because the phone company might not have the capacity to handle all those calls! OH NO!!!
Where are your figures that show that busses cost more to run than passenger cars per passenger mile? Do you include sprawl? The cost of maintaining a huge highway network for cars? (You think the latest freeway loop was built for trucks? Hah!) What about traffic jams?
Perhaps if you stop acting like a run-of-the-mill neocon, people might address you with a little more respect...
Now then, Kerry conceding the race means nothing until the votes are tabulated and the electoral college votes.
Let me restate this - it doesn't mean anything until the votes have been counted, and the electoral college votes.
Parent isn't shredding files on a filesystem, parent is shredding a block device. Filesystems reside on the block device, they are not 'the' block device. So shredding/home/secretfiles on EXT3 or a RAID array is a no-no, but shredding/dev/hda will do what you think it will do.
If the Dems presented a candidate with credible foreign policy credentials
And Bush has Foreign Policy credentials? Please, alienating the world hardly seems like something to boast.
If you're not with us, you're against us. If you're not supporting Bush, you're a terrorist. If you don't support the war on terrorism, you hate freedom.
Why must you see things in black or white? There's a reason why we have DIPLOMATS, because every issue is NOT black or white.
I don't mean to insult you, but it appears as though you have a 3 year old's view of the world.
Dishonest? Exactly how is getting the MANUFACTURER to willingly honor its own warranty dishonest?
Let's say you and I enter into a contract that states that I will replace a product that you purchased from me if there are any defects. If you submit a product to me where you claim there are defects (your worn out widget is not as pretty as a new widget), and I decide to replace the product, there is no dishonesty. The manufacturer is free to decide its own policies for replacement of a product. Being consenting adults (or corporations), we are allowed to decide certain things for ourselves, such as when to do something, or whether we want to do something. I believe this is called free will.
If the manufacturer is stupid enough to have an overly open warranty policy, and a consumer utilizes that warranty policy, I fail to see where the consumer is being 'dishonest'.
By your logic, a Volvo 240 should run just as quickly as Nissan 240. Hey, they've got the same number, that must mean they go the same speed and run exactly the same!
First, I couldn't get the cgi to crash Firefox 0.10.1. I have a feeling this guy was testing crufty browsers, or something. Considering this tool said that "ALL" browsers except IE crash, it's obvious that it's FUD and not anything really serious.
As an aside, Mozilla may have 30MB of compressed source, but you don't have to include all that source in your binary. It's pretty easy to snip stuff out of the Mozilla source. Remember phoenix, way back when? It can be done...
I concur. You can't even get the discount on brand new stuff at my Uni's store. What's the point?
Says who? Please point me to the law/statute that says exactly this -- no MPAA/RIAA "interpretations". Otherwise, you are full of shit.

Yes. Unpriveledged users can run apache on any port over 1024. Have a nice day.

Please, let's see some figures.
"Gentoo" wouldn't have updated this, but perhaps the Linux Kernel developers might have...

Nah, I'm bored at work. I can't beat up on my boss, so I beat up on /. Better than pushing someone in front of a subway or something, right?
(I know, I know, don't feed the trolls...)

Most likely, IHBT.
Er, yeah. There's been no talk of KVM's in AskSlashdot in 2004.
Learn to search old stories first, you goon.
I know a guy working on this game, and he's a genuine jackass. Pirate the game, please! Put him in the poorhouse!

Hmm, I've been accessing citicard's online account managment for at least a year, most likely longer...

Huh? Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040914 Firefox/0.10.1 No crashes here. I must not be lucky.
Are you high? Who the hell pays $20 for a medium pizza. It's $5 MAX with toppings here in expensive, expensive NJ.
Security through obscurity is a wonderous thing, eh?
