  2. Re:300 km/h? Looks much slower in the video on Robot Catches High Speed Objects · · Score: 0

That was my first thought, it looks way too slow. If you go to the lab's site (below) you can see a couple slow motion videos. If you knew the frequency of the fluorescent bulbs (which you can see flickering) and the distance we see the ball travelling, we could figure out the speed that way. Or count the number of frames at 200 fps it takes for the ball to reach the hand. But alas, I'm at work and have "better things to do". http://www.k2.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/fusion/MiraikanCatch ing/

I can't find anything about it online, but while at Champaign we were told that the University of Illinois' library system was the second largest in the country, behind Harvard. Oh yeah, and our basketball team is #1 :-) And sorry to all you Michigan folk out there, it's just been a while since I've been able to say that!!

My roommate researched RFID on meds at GlaxoSmithKline and believes this will be a huge aid in preventing the sale of bogus medications. She was in the import/export control division and saw first hand all the counterfeit drugs in the market. Coincidentally, she's also very opposed to importing prescription drugs from Canada.
