Doesn't anyone else see the irony? Information is not new. The distribution of information has changed and the ability to have infomration used directly by machines is new. The combining and mixing in the new media makes the information seem different.
This is a *Book* about new media. The book being *sold* is based on technology thousands of years old and it is about new information media that cannot be (is not) used for its own sale.
I have dealt with an extremely similar situation. If you want your company focus to move away from biotech to SQA it won't happen. What pays the bills is where the attention will stay.
Today this situation is common as more and more non-software and non-computer selling companies realize the value proposistion in moving into selling more software and more infomation as part of their core business.
The bottom line is that if you want to work in (and with) SQA you will have to work with the companies that SQA is closer to the revenue stream. It is that simple.
This sort of so-called cleverness really gets me going. As said quite a percentage of Anglo males are color blind. Products from Asia have historically used these clever color codes on equipment because they are oblivious to color blindness.
As a color blind person I get quite indignant when someone wants to use miulticolor LEDs and so on because it is elegant. Those things are impossible to use for me.
This concept falls into the category of "So Simple no one can understand it!"
Grrr.
The abundance of Titanium and Uranium on the moon makes it a clear choice. We need to build a nuclear-direct refinery/smelter of titanium. The strategic metal in turn will make some pretty cool spacecraft right on the moon away from the burdensome gravity of earth.
There is limited bandwidth at Mactown. We have 2 T1's for everything. Science takes a lot of Bandwidth. The idea of personal broadband is still a dream here.

Basically you are screwed.
