  1. Re:And who, exactly, is the enemy? on Bradley Manning Charged With Aiding the Enemy · · Score: 1

Al-Qaida in Yemen. Actually, how the leaked cables can aid the enemy has been documented by NPR. In a Morning Edition story from Dec 02, 2010, NPR revealed that Al-Qaida in Yemen could use the cables as a recruiting tool in the rural areas of Yemen. In good journalistic style, NPR talks about what could happen rather than what has happened, presumably because interviewing someone in Al-Qaida and getting them to admit this would be very difficult. Nonetheless, it is easy to see how this would aid the enemy.

Write the UN! Email them at mailto://wsa-conference@icnm.net. They may not listen, but we know what their response will be if we do nothing. Make them realize that the people of the world are watching and will not be hoodwinked!

  3. I liked O'Reilly training on Best Training in Linux Administration? · · Score: 1

I have taken the first 2 O'Reilly courses. I liked them and learned a lot. I liked the free books too. I think I learned more than I would have at the local community college, and I have been able to apply what I learned at work. However, I'm sure that even these courses only scratch the surface. I would also recommend O'Reilly's Unix Power Tools book.

  4. What about the flip side? on Your Right to Travel Anonymously: Not Dead Yet · · Score: 1

Do pilots and flight attendants have the right not to fly a passenger who refuses to show ID? I would be very reluctant to do so if I were part of the flight crew. Also, don't airlines have a right to make a policy that they won't fly a passenger who refuses? If it were your airline, would you want some customer telling you under what conditions he will fly? As a business person I have a right to run my business the way I want. If someone doesn't want to show me ID, I don't want to fly him. We both get to exercise our rights.
