It's dangerous, it's expensive, it's impractical, it's technically flawed, it isn't "a better way" it just has a smidge of entertainment value which fades immediately.
You mean like when American soldiers kick doors to civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan? You mean like when they local SWAT kicks in your door and kicks the crap out of you? Or do you mean like the TSA at the airports, train stations, bus stops, government buildings and a 100 mile inward from the border boundary that allows them to search you anytime without probable cause or warrant? Do you mean the NSA which is busily gathering up this very conversation, I mean someday you may be hanging upside down from a torture rack and they will wave an a wad of printed out/. comments from 20 years ago (this happens in the future by the way) in front of you and want to know where your "comrade" koan is. You mean like that?
You don't know what's on your device, you don't know what's in the firmware, you don't know who can see what, you don't know what laws will spring to make it happen, in fact it seems to me you think things will always stay the same when most children can grasp that things change, constantly.
Project Gutenberg, has freely available, an author you should read, Spinoza. In addition you can get the Upanishads (or in chronological order if you prefer) so I would hardly call a site with 2 of the only spiritual books any one would ever need "crap".
Windows is cyclic, Win 98 Ok, Win ME terrible, Win XP Ok, Win Vista terrible, Win 7 Ok, Win 8 terrible.
The NSA version?
I see it's "real" because you use WIndows.
A web based catheter system, where is it?
Think of the possibilities.
Why does Russia seem to get more than it's fair share of rocks falling on it?
Without the Guardian's rep he will be regulated to the conspiracy bin in no time at all.

I do have one question, if you need reliable encryption and privacy why is your operating systems Windows?
Sounds like a bad idea all the way around.
It's dangerous, it's expensive, it's impractical, it's technically flawed, it isn't "a better way" it just has a smidge of entertainment value which fades immediately.
It's stupid.

No just a World in which when you are caught with that sort of thing...
Brazil, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, V for Vendetta, etc.
I didn't mention DRM as I consider it irrelevant.
But doesn't have the Trusted Computing chips, compromised BIOS and other BS, and still runs Linux like a charm.
Wow you're still talking...
I have the dubious pleasure of being exposed to some of this tech, what's amusing is it does know who I am, but insist that I am also married.
In fact every record I search on the Inet (pipl, spokeo, etc) all say I am married.
I used to drink my share, but I don't recall ever getting that drunk so where is this marriage coming from?
"the physical challenge of sitting at one's computer for hours"
Really? You still haven't figured out how to do that without fatigue?
Another one that doesn't get it.
"Is a book dealer refusing to carry a particular book really "censorship"? "
Yes, and shame on you for having to ask.
"One of the freedoms of being a businessman"
Tell that to Lavabit. (http://lavabit.com/)
Store paper books worth reading.
And do you realize that they must then be displayed on a screen to read, or printed out which means connection to a computer.
Now I'll let you warm up your imagination, and think your way through it.
I store books that are timeless (farming, cooking, canning, medical, math, science, various other things that I consider essential.
Seems silly to do this today, but I just want to hang on to the paper and see how it all plays out, hopefully I am wrong about everything.
Thank you for that, the lack of imagination here is astounding... I guess nurb432 really couldn't figure that out for himself.
