In all honisty Microsoft should guard against anyone accessing core parts of the operating system. If you leave system calls available to anyone (read root kit) that allow the average application to either hide itself from the OS or interfere with the operating of the OS then the malware writers will use them too. Software needs to be forced into a sandbox if we ever hope to have secure a OS. I know people will complain and say that Microsoft is being all anti-trustie but everyone complains and says they need to get on the security ball, well they cant complain now that they are trying.
Maybe I am being dumb but why should a body orbiting differently then the rest of the bodies in a solar system be that odd. Maybe that is how it has always been.

I dont know what sort of consistancy you have amongst your pcs but If you have clumps of pcs that are all the same hardware you can always set up images. I love ghost because you can multicast out that image and if you get yourself a schedule to your reimaging you never have to worry about spyware because it tends to take a good solid week to really get to a computer. Of cource this is assuming that you are worried about the proformance issuse with spyware and not the privacy issues. Just my two cents.
Actualy you would be suprised, Touchet can get cable, Lowden probably cant but it has a population of like 2 so if you live there you are asking not to have internet. Dayton can get MSN DSL which sucks yes but Walla cant even get that. And yes you are right Clyde and Startbuck, Wallula and Prescot are stuck but I doubt highly that this network they have added works for them or if it does, I doubt it works very well.

First off I have to say, WOOT, I cant believe my small home town got on slashdot. I mean we had the simpson and bugs bunny but now slashdot. Wow.
Anyways, I would like to point out that while Walla might be a small little town this new service is not its only or best solution for internet. You can get cable and dsl in Walla just like any other place and it isnt much more expensive. The farmers can even get cable on the outskirts of town. I suppose they cant get it on their combine but who the hell cares.
