I'm still waiting for someone to top id's cheat codes. I mean common, who can forget IDKFA?
I still remember doom and quake cheats and console commands even though the games are so old. I'd be hard pressed to remember anything codes from any game that I'm not playing right now.
the pickup mechanism CAN produce distortion, but only on regular old audio cd's (known as jitter)
AFAIK dvd's dont suffer from this because of the parity data that is read from the disc (and thereby correcting any bad data read)
AMD's bus runs at 1600mhz, but its only 16-bits wide! (and technically the fsb on the Athlon 64 is only 400mhz, as thats the width of the memory link...The system bus is 1600mhz)
Intel's FSB runs at 800 (and soon 1066) and its 64-bits wide.

Why not use an UPS? They are dirt cheap and no modifications are needed.
