What the hell are you talking about? VB.NET has nothing to do with VC++. Neither C# or VB.NET compiles to object code which can be executed directly by the target computer.

You know... This is configurable in GNOME. You could change so that no images are displayed in the menubar or so that only images are visible in the menubar.
